For Teachers

The Youth Services Department offers many services to students and teachers in Bridgeview, including library tours and field trips, school visits, instructional sessions, storytimes, and help with assignments. We look forward to working with you!

Bring your students to the library!

We are happy to help your students with research projects, book recommendations, storytimes, and library tours and instruction. If you would like to schedule a field trip to the library, please give us a call at (708) 458-2880 x106 at least two weeks in advance. Field trips are usually scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before the library is open.

Bring a librarian to your school!

Youth Services staff members can come to your classroom to read stories, talk about books, or tell your students about programs at the library. We can also speak at assemblies, family nights, and other events. Let us know what you need at least two weeks in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Assignment Alerts

The staff has put together an Assignment Alert form to help us better serve your students. When you assign a special project or report, fill out this form and we will gather all material we have on the subject and restrict it to in-library use only. This way, when many students need to do research on the same topic, there will be materials available for all of the students to use. If possible, please call at least one week in advance so staff can pull all material and put it aside for your students. You can also fill out this handy online form.
